Casey, you should make the connection a rule of mmqm. New quote doesn’t have to be someone involved in the quote (or even an actor) but must have some connection to the previously quoted film.
For example: Tom Cruise in M:I was talking to the guy who played Ritter in Clear and Present Danger with Harrison Ford who was in Air Force One with Gary Oldman who was Sirius Black in Azkaban.
