UPDATE!

Do you see the dancer turning clockwise or counter-clockwise?
If clockwise, then you use more of the right side of the brain.
Counter-clockwise, left.
“Most of us would see the dancer turning counter-clockwise.”
Try to focus and change the direction.
It doesn’t matter how hard I try…
she always spins clockwise for me.

I recommend one year anniversaries…or at least the The Great Smoky Mountains.
As most of you know Casey and I celebrated our one year anniversary on the 17th.
We stayed in a cute cabin in Townsend, TN. It took about 5 hours to get there (not including the hour detour to Starbucks and Old Navy). We arrived at our cabin around 2pm, unloaded the car, ate lunch, and took some pictures of our place for the weekend.
After all that we decided to go to the Tuckaleechee Caverns. All caverns look the same…but they are still neat.
the big room…those stalactites are like 300ft away and that little one is almost 7ft tall…it was a big room!
drinking 98.9% pure cavern water!
We got some homemade apple butter and some oreo fudge from the gift shop…YUM. After the caverns we just kinda explored the town and went back to the cabin and cooked some dinner. After dinner we got in the hot tub and relaxed. It was nice.
Saturday morning we got up early and went horseback riding. I really enjoyed it. I love riding horses and it made we want a horse really bad. Casey rode a horse named Indigo and I rode one named Gypsy. You can’t really tell from the picture but my horse was huge. We were supposed to keep our horses from eating grass and leaves. Yeah right. My horses neck was stronger than my whole body. If she wanted to eat some leaves she was going to eat some leaves. We galloped a few times on the horses. Any one that has galloped on a horse knows this is the least fun thing to do on a horse. It hurt so bad.
Next we drove the Cades Cove Loop Road Auto Tour. It was so beautiful. I’ll let the pictures do the talking on this one.
After that we drove to Gatlinburg. It was my first time there and it was fun. I had no idea how touristy it was. We walked around for like 5 hours looking in all the shops. I especially enjoyed the candy shops. We played putt-putt and did a mirror maze. Putt-putt was funny and the mirror maze was crazy! It really messed with our minds. If you ever get a chance to do one…do it! Then we ate dinner. It was a great day.
Sunday we checked out and headed home. The most exciting thing that happened on the drive was the bird that flew into our car to hang with us for a while. His name was Bert.
at first we were like “whaaa?!”
but ended up being pretty cool.
that is all.

i recommend vacations because they are fun.
now i will tell you about the one i just went on.
there is a link to the pictures from the trip at the bottom
(if you’d prefer to skip the reading).
part 1
my mom got sent to orlando for a week to work so she flew me out there.
we stayed at the world marriott center. it was super nice…the second nicest hotel i’ve ever stayed at (the first being the waldorf astoria in new york). we stayed there until friday when my mom finished her week of hard work. during those two days we hung out at the hotel because we didn’t have a car. we went to the hot tub one night and had a party on the top floor’s pent house with some ladies my mom works with. i got to eat lots of really good food for free, too. and i have to mention the beds…most comfortable beds ever.
part 2
- friday afternoon we got a rental car and drove to cocoa beach. we stayed at a la quinta inn (not the nicest hotel ever, but it worked). our first night we went to a place called coconuts on the beach and it was quite an experience. it was definitely not a family place. it was fun, though. some guy bought me a shot and tried to get me and my mom to go up on stage with the band. awkward.
- saturday we had lunch by the pool and hung around ’til dinner. we had dinner at this place called florida’s seafood. it was sooooo good. they brought out funnel cake balls for an appetizer. and then key lime sorbet for an after dinner treat. a restaurant that brings you dessert before and after dinner for free is my kind of restaurant! after dinner we explored our surroundings and found a putt-putt golf place, so we went and played. my mom won a game and i won a game.
- sunday morning we ran to a farmers market and we both got pretty rings from a guy with lots of tattoos (even on his face). then we walked back on the beach and looked for shells. later on we went to see pirates 3 (not good) then we went to dinner but on our way to dinner we there was some kind of stand off with the police right across from the restaurant, so of course everyone had to watch. there were probably 6 police with their guns drawn hiding behind their car doors. they were surrounding a van and making the people in the van walk backwards towards them one at a time with their hands up. i got a picture. it was intense. we never found out what it was all about though.
- monday was probably the most exciting day of the trip. we went to a wildlife refuge and drove down a trail and we saw a real life wild alligator! it was crazy. i was close to it. then we went to a manatee observation deck and right when we got there a manatee had just passed and we missed it! so we waited and waited, ate lunch, left, came back and waited and waited and saw a dolphin while we waited some more and then finally we saw mother and child manatees!! and it was so exciting…me and my mom broke the park rules and ran off the trail so we could get up close pictures! they are weird looking animals. but i love it! on our way leaving the refuge we saw a huge huge wild boar…like massive. it was dead but still. i’d bet money that the car that hit it is no more. yikes. after all the wildlife excitement we walked down the pier, got some ice cream, watched surfers and looked at pelicans. for dinner we went back to florida’s seafood (because it’s awesome) and had a shrimp fest. yum!
- tuesday we packed up, drove back to orlando, sat around the airport and said our goodbyes. it was a wonderful vacation.
the end.

i didnt really like it that much at first
